nativNativ LogoThere's still time to apply for the 2011-2012 Nativ College Leadership Program, a challenging academic gap-year program dedicated to creating and inspiring the Conservative Jewish leaders of tomorrow. Nativ, which means "path" in Hebrew, provides a unique opportunity to explore new directions on the journey to becoming a Jewish adult. After graduating from high school but before heading off to college, Nativ participants are immersed in the rich and diverse society of Israel, exploring the land and enjoying a fulfilling Conservative Jewish lifestyle.

Over the years many Ramah graduates have taken part in this wonderful opportunity and found that within this inspiring setting, Nativ functions as a dedicated and committed Conservative Jewish community. Ramah in return has enjoyed scores of Nativ graduates who have become tzevet at all of the Ramah summer camps.

Nativ

Living in Israel is like no other Jewish experience because the society itself is imbued with Jewish life and spirit. Although there are currently many exciting gap-year options in Israel, Nativ, now in its 30th year, is the only Conservative program available.

The program includes academic university classes, intensive Hebrew classes, Judaic and Yeshiva studies, and innovative leadership training. Nativ enables recent high school graduates to earn college credits for their studies while living in a classroom without walls.

A true year of exploration, Nativ provides the freedom for personal discovery as well as the security of a carefully structured program. This unforgettable experience is created through an intricate balance between academics and volunteer work, learning and teaching, personal challenge and community living. Participants on Nativ return from the year with a stronger attachment to the land of Israel as well as a deeper passion for Judaism, enthusiastic to share with their communities what they have learned.

Don't miss out on a once in a lifetime opportunity. For more information about this exciting program, please visit the Nativ website or be in touch with Avital Elfant, the USY Central Shlicha, at 212-533-7800 ext. 1119 or nativ@uscj.org.
