"The History of Zionism and Israeli Politics Today"
Part II:  "Roots and Branches of Zionism"

A journey through contemporary Zionism from 1948 to the present with Professor Gideon Aran, Ph.D., visiting scholar at SFSU and UC Berkeley. Professor Aran will teach Part II in a 5 session course on Wednesdays, January 19, 26, & February 2, 9, 16, 7:30-9:00 pm.  Join us for an eye-opening look at the diversity and development of Zionist thinking about Israel from 1948 to the present. Learn what feeds passions and divisions within Israel today by understanding Zionism's roots and the journey it took from its beginning to today.   This is the second part of the two part series.  This five session series will look at how different branches of Zionist ideology became part of Israeli culture, politics and society.  We will examine selected issues in contemporary Zionism from the point of view of the social sciences.  Fee for members is $45-65  for five sessions   [sliding scale, no one turned away for lack of funds] Fee for non-members is $75
